I Will Not Serve

Quote of the Day

"No real social change has ever been brought about without a revolution...
Revolution is but thought carried into action".

Emma Goldman (1869-1940)

Algiers 21/02/2011

Policemen assaulted students during a demonstration which is supposed to be PACIFIC in front of the Ministry of Higher Education. It is simply the revenge of the stupid illiterate over the conscious educated. Poor Algeria!

Quote of the Day

"And ever has it been known that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation".
Gibran Khalil Gibran (1883-1931)

Ojos de Fuego

***

Quote of the Day

"Half the world is composed of people who have something to say and can't, and the other half who have nothing to say and keep on saying it".
 Robert Frost (1874-1963)
Photo: Odilon Redon, Silence.

Can You Repeat the Question?

Today, somebody asked me "what is your favorite way to die?" ... Umm .. what?!!! What a weird question to ask! Are we able to chose? How can we combine two words like "die" and "favorite" in the same sentence and do not think that there must be something wrong with it? And above all, what is the point?!

Haven't you noticed that sometimes people ask some very strange questions? Or even simple questions but you cannot answer easily. The best example might be this one: "Why do you love me?". Women ask this question a lot, I must admit that I've already did it, and even if the guy gave me a very good answer, I regret asking it. It is just an annoying question that may have some bad consequences. You better be careful with this ladies, because constantly asking this question might lead to this answer: "well, I'm just asking myself the same question right now". Even men have a question they ask a lot, I won't say it but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about (and you should stop doing it because in this case the answer would be a slap).

I am sure that everyone of us has been once involved in this kind of conversation, when somebody asks for your opinion about something:

A: So, what do you think about it?
B: I like it.
A: Why?
B: I don't know.
A: How can you not know?!
B: Well .. I don't know!
A: Then you don't like it.
B: No, I do!
A: So tell me why?!
B: Well .. ok, you know what, you are right, I don't like it.
A: Really?!
B: Yes.
.
.
.
A: Why?!!!

PS: My answer for the first question (even so, I did answer it) was "I would like to be eaten by Hannibal Lecter" and the guy said: "what a weird answer!" .. Irony.

Guy Gagnon

Guy Gagnon is definitely one of my biggest inspirations. He is a passionate Canadian photographer I met on Myspace, I admire his work a lot because I think that there is something unique about it, especially his "Fragile" photo series which is just Amazing. He is such a kind and nice person and this is reflected in his work.

Quote of the Day

"Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat".

Mark Twain - Notebook, 1894

Tran Nguyen

I discovered this artist few time ago and I really love her work, the way she gives life to her figures and the emotions that flow out of every illustration.

Each painting depicts a particular milieu of apprehension that conveys many of the prevalent distresses we frequently come across in life. Uneasiness such as ridding ourselves of wayward thinking or living a burdensome life can be abrasive to our soul, but these heavyhearted situations are what makes life even more precious.
