A beautiful song by Algerian singer Nassima Chabane, a great figure of Arabic-Andalusian music. This is a tribute to Sufi master Ibn-Arabi (1165-1240). From her album "The Sufi Spirit, the Spirit of Love".
Layla
Give honors and say a lovely prayer,
Upon He who lightens the darkness, Taha* the Protector
Sleepless I am, loving the beauty of Layla,
My heart burns with ardent love for her, the beautiful oner
Abundantly my tears flow like torrents,
Since she shot me with her arrows, I became sick with love
Slow down for a while young man, she said,
Come closer with respect, and cure my pain
Peace be upon you Layla, I answered,
And upon this honorable gathering standing between us
*One of the names given to Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him).
